Four things we will ask anyway.
What the traffic looks like. Steady or bursty, mostly out or both ways, and how wide it goes on the worst day rather than the average one. Port size follows from that, and nothing else we quote makes sense before it.
Where your users are. Amsterdam, Meppel, US East and US West— and if the honest answer is “both sides of the Atlantic”, say so, because two machines is often cheaper than one in the wrong place.
What you run today. A current invoice or a traceroute tells us more in ten seconds than a requirements document does in a page. If you are moving off something, what annoyed you about it is useful too.
Whether you need anything we do not sell. Managed OS work, backups, guaranteed DDoS mitigation. We would rather point you somewhere else on day zero than take the order and disappoint you later.
